Hoax E-mail: Password Advice

We have received reports of an e-mail requesting logon account details which appears to originate from webmaster@networksgy.com. This e-mail is a hoax. Do not respond to it. If you have already done so, you would have compromised your account information. Inter.Net.Works will never ask you for password details and you should not share or relate this information.

Please be guided by the following password tips
1. Never give anyone your username and password details. If your information has been compromised, we recommend an immediate change of password. All password changes are handled exclusively by the Inter.Net.Works account office. You are required to complete a change of password request form. Password changes are not accepted via e-mail or over the telephone.

2. Do not use your Inter.Net.Works account information for any other service including free online mail, customised web sites and any other online service which requires a username and password.

3. Do not choose a password which can be easily guessed. That automatically
excludes a password which uses your name, any part of your name, your nickname, your children names, car or anything that relates to you in a familiar sense. Here is a good measure of this; if you can type your password without looking at your keyboard, it is probably too easy to guess !

4. A strong password should have a minimum of 6 characters and will include a combination of letters and numbers such as "sf49er80". You should not use characters which are used in common phrases such as "roygbiv" or "qwerty123".

5. Selecting and remembering your password can be a testing task, especially when you have several passwords. It is better to choose a password which is complex enough to be secure yet easy enough to remember. A simple way of doing this is to choose something that makes sense to you.

example: mbvwb21ij ( my brother varu will be 21 in june).

6. Never choose a password which is the same as your username, the reverse of your username ("emanresu") or any words which are associated with a password such as "password", "secret", "admin", "test", "guest" or "enter". It may look interesting but is hardly effective !

Depending on how you use your internet access, you may need to periodically
change your password. When you do this, you should not "recycle" old passwords.

It is recommended that you do changes to your password information on a monthly basis especially in an environment where several persons have access to the information. This would help to eliminate third parties that may get access to your information.

Reseller Accounts
Inter.Net.Works will be introducing a new subscription rate for Resellers Accounts of  $9300.00/month per account, for unlimited access effective April 1, 2002. Existing account holders who resell their internet service, will be subject to this new rate. Individual and Business accounts are not affected by the new rate level. Please contact our account office for further information. If reseller activity is detected on an individual or business account, we will request that a Reseller Account is opened or we may be forced to withdraw service from the offending account holder. We encourage you to disclose the intended use of your account either when your service is registered or at any time prior to the activation of the new rate.
